RE:                  Alateen Advisory Committee (AAC) – Changes for 2007

CC:                 Delegates

EXCITING NEWS ABOUT THE ALATEEN ADVISORY COMMITTEE (AAC)

Canadian Alateens and USA Alateens needed to participate!

We appreciate your patience and understanding regarding the Alateen Advisory Committee and are happy to report that exciting changes will take place on a trial basis.

In 2007, the AAC will serve on a calendar year basis.  The AAC meeting will be held at the Southeast Regional Service Seminar (SERSS) March 16-18, 207 with USA Committee members; at the Canada Central Regional Service Seminar (CCRSS) August 17-19, 2007 with Canadian Committee members.

Both AAC meetings will cover the same agenda topics.  Each AAC meeting can have up to four Alateen members; one transitioned Alateen who is at least 18 years of age, two Alateen Sponsors, and one Al-Anon member who is either a professional who works with children or who is a past Area Alateen Coordinator.

The AAC members will be able to attend the functions of the RSS in addition to participating in the AAC meeting.  A conference call may also be scheduled in the Fall of 2007 for all committee members if discussions of agenda topics warrant it.

A few members previously submitted resumes for the 2006-2007 committee year.  These members will be sent notification of the changes and asked to verify if they are still interested in serving.   We strongly encourage additional members from both Canada and the United States to also submit resumes.

The selection process will begin by December.  The resume form and committee guideline, including requirements for consideration, are on the North Florida Area web site http://www.northfloridaal-anon.org/. Please fax or postal mail resumes per the below information as soon as possible in order to be considered:
