Hello North Florida Area (NFA)!!!  Wow, I am having so much fun and I just love this opportunity to serve as your NFA Delegate.  Woooo-Hoooo!!!

At the Area World Service Committee (AWSC) meeting in August, I reviewed the Southeast Regional Trustee (SERT) scoring process with the AWSC.  I have already received all the résumé’s that were submitted for the Southeast Region and I am going through the tedious yet very important process of scoring them.  It’s a new process and I am so excited that I get to experience it and yes, Diane’s résumé was in the packet.

Also at the AWSC meeting I gave copies of the following to each committee member: China Blog, Background of the Four Primary Ideas, HELP WANTED – Male Contacts for Inmate Correspondence, Pyramid Sponsorship, Sponsorship (Lois W., 1967 Conference Digest), Charitable Deductions and Not-for-Profit Status, information on the service manual (2006-2009) and Question regarding revisions to Al‑Anon literature.  If you are interested in any of these topics get with your District Representative (DR) or your Al-Anon Information Service Liaison (AISL).  I am sure they would love to share this information with you.

And all groups were mailed information from the World Service Office (WSO) on the: 2008 International Al-Anon Convention (Pittsburgh will be great in 2008!), new Sponsorship Bookmark, 2007 Conference Summary order form (I strongly suggest that each of you get the summary…it has so much information in it from the Conference…and the cost is FREE you only pay the $3 shipping and handling…HOW COOL IS THAT?).

The 2008 World Service Conference (all current Delegate’s attend) will be in Stamford, CT.  April 13–17, 2008.  Yes, we will be visiting Stepping Stones.  Remember you can send donations to the conference on behalf of your group or send Love Gift (about 100 of them), to show your North Florida love for all the Delegates who are serving our program.

The 2013 International site will be announced in late September or early October. There is an opening at WSO for a Web Architect, and the 2006 Members’ survey presentation is available on-line go to members’ Web site for details.

Question for you, have you:

§      seen the new book, Opening our Hearts, Transforming our Losses?  How has your group used it for discussion, please be sure to share your experiences with your DR.

§      seen the new “Sketches” public service announcement (PSA)?  It was shown at the Spring Assembly but have you seen it on TV yet?  Has your Public Outreach District Chairperson gotten a copy yet?  I know District 8 got a copy and showed it at a District Workshop (how exciting), please let us know how you are using this wonderful PSA.

§      celebrated ALATEENS BIRTHDAY?  District 4’s Alateen group invited me to speak and it was a GREAT turn out, what a wonderful group of people.  I heard others have celebrated so be sure to send Robert (NFA Alateen Coordinator) a quick note letting him know what you have done.

Please send us your feedback/report because I want to be able to report on all this stuff at next years Conference.

I hope every group is already planning to send their Group Representative (GR) to the NFA Fall Assembly, as I am sure I will have new information to report on by then.  And, for those who were at the last NFA Assembly, you have already had the opportunity to share in the Knowledge Based Decision Making (KDBM) for an informed group conscience process.  You know where we gather information, and share it, have dialog before we make a decision. I look forward to seeing you soon.  Lots of Love, Lisa P.
